The ACRL/NY User Experience Discussion Group is a subcommittee of the Association of College and Research Libraries Greater New York Chapter (ACRL/NY). The Discussion Group Chair is appointed by the ACRL/NY Executive Board.
Mission Statement: Participation in the User Experience Discussion Group is a benefit of membership in the Association of College and Research Libraries Greater New York Chapter (ACRL/NY). Meetings are open to ACRL/NY members only. The User Experience Discussion Group (UXDG) seeks to initiate discussion among professional academic librarians about user experience issues, techniques and approaches in academic libraries. Topics may include any user experience perspective, including interviews, web design, listening techniques, etc. The UXDG seeks to advocate for user experience studies in libraries and teach user experience techniques to participants.
Membership: A “Member” is defined as a person who has registered and paid dues to ACRL/NY; this membership is separate from national ACRL membership. ACRL/NY membership is required for participation in UXDG meetings. It is NOT required for UXDG events or workshops.
